I am the first woman in my family history who has the opportunity to take risks without risking my precious life - A profound realisation prompted by Ailey Jolie
Hey girl,
Look at you.
Take a moment and look at you.
The way you look, the way you feel, the way you think, the way you act. Feel your energy, your power, your strength, your wisdom. Feel your fire.
You’ve taken the scenic route. People might think you’re wrong, immature, or odd, but none of that matters because what you have learned and discovered - the depths of your being that you have reached, and, as a result, your understanding of this world, the people in it, what fuels it, and the power it harnesses - is worth every twist, turn, and moment you felt lost.
You've always felt different.
You’ve always felt like people couldn’t truly accept you, and you never understood why. You never knew what it was that seemed so wrong or out of the ordinary - what you said or did that kept you on the outside looking in.
What you didn’t know then was that it was never about what you did or didn’t do or say - it was about the energy you carried. The kind that can’t be explained in words, only felt.
And your energy always triggered people in one way or another, because it spoke to the parts of themselves they had suppressed out of fear. Fear of acknowledging those parts, knowing that doing so might push them to step out of the crowd.
The world’s best-kept secret is this: if everyone finds the courage to truly see themselves and align with their core being, there will be no crowd to step out of, because we will all stand together as individuals, each expressing our own energy and passion in its purest form.
But you never knew that.
And so, you always acted as yourself but never been yourself. And it was hard at times, I know it was, I remember you feeling so alienated, so hated, mocked, attacked. The more you would try to please and bargain your way in, the more you would be pushed away even further.
From one stage of life to the next, you have shifted, adapted and moulded yourself to blend in - to fit, to suit, to stay in line. And it was hard. You lived in a constant state of inner conflict, wanting to be accepted, to achieve what you desired, yet never fully trusting your own uniqueness. Bursts of authenticity would escape you at times - sometimes you paid the price for it, other times you entertained. But your focus was always out there. On them.
Looking back now, I don’t know how you did it, how you kept shifting, adapting, growing and improving, even within the tight environments you placed yourself in. And you kept going, pushing through, until you Hulked out of it. From that moment, there was no turning back, no matter how much fear tried to hold you down.
My beautiful girl, you haven’t just freed yourself, you’ve learned how to be free. For a long time, you thought that, just because you know you’re free, you will automatically be free.
And it took you some time to learn how to be free. And you’ve done it. And magic started following you.
And now you say:
I know how smart and wise I am.
I love how deeply I think and how widely I see.
I am different from those around me, and I love that. I don’t think I’m better than anyone, I finally feel equal to everyone. We were never meant to be the same; we become ourselves when we allow to truly meet who we are.
I have worked so effortlessly hard and accomplished so much. I am not who I was. I carry every version of myself with me, not as weight, but as wisdom.
The anxious girl, the timid girl, the girl who felt like a victim, the rabbit in the headlights, they all have me now. Someone to stand with them, love them, protect them, see them, and understand them.
I don’t know exactly what my life will look like from here, but I can feel it. I don’t know what form it will take or how it will unfold, but I am excited to find out. The places I will go, the spaces I will live in, the people I will meet and the one I feel coming towards me.
I love every version of myself I have tested and trialled, and every version yet to come.
I commit to being present, to see beauty, to follow passion, and to trust excitement in every moment. To know I am unconditionally loved and supported by the universe - because
I am the universe.
I commit to being present.
To seeing the beauty, following my passion and trusting my excitement in every moment.
To knowing I am unconditionally loved and supported by the universe, because
I am the universe.
All my love,
Me
